Chelsea Football Club may have found their groove with a crushing win over Aston Villa on Sunday. The blues beat Villa 8-0 to record 13 goals in two matches. Seven goals from seven different scorers and a double for Ramires was all the Rafa Benitez tutored side needed to move up to third position on the premier league table.
It was a record breaking night as Frank Lampard had his 500th appearance for the club and 130 goals, surpassing the mark Bobby Tambling set from 1959-70; while the club handed Villa its largest margin of defeat as the Blues matched their largest league win, 8-0 over Wigan on May 9, 2010.
Fernando Torres opened goal scoring with a header in the third minute, David Luiz (29'), Branislav Ivanovic (34'), Frank Lampard (59'), Ramires (75', 91'), Oscar (79') and Eden Hazard (83') also scored.
American goalkeeper Brad Guzan came to Villa's rescue at some points with some fine saves, he saved Piazon penalty kick denying the youngster a spot on the score sheet alongside his Brazilian compatriots.
