Romeo Beckham is ready for his close up!
The 10-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham has been unveiled
as the adorable new face of Burberry's spring/summer 2013 ad campaign.
Outfitted in a mini trench and clutching one of the company's signature
plaid umbrellas, the happy-go-lucky kid strikes an animated pose — like
he's ready to go "Singin' in the Rain."
A second picture posted on the fashion company's Facebook page is a
behind-the-scenes shot of the gap-toothed Romeo at the Mario
Testino-helmed photo shoot. In it he's smiling widely — a trait he must
have picked up from his soccer star dad, not his designer mom, who is famous for her pout.
It was only a matter of time before Romeo decided get into showbiz.
Not only are his world-famous parents largely into fashion and modeling
(though his dad poses mostly in his undies), but the middle Beckham son
has long been hamming it up at sporting events alongside his brothers —
and has a sharp sense of style for an elementary school kid.
"We had dinner last night and Romeo wore a suit with a little shirt and tie," Victoria told Harper's Bazaar in 2009. "That's what he would wear every single day, he's so into fashion."
While his brothers Brooklyn and Cruz would rather hit the beach and
play in the sand, Romeo would prefer to be working with his mother on
her fashion label. "The other boys are all about going to the beach,"
Victoria added. "He's not interested." Instead, "He's like, 'I want to
go to work with Mummy,' and he sits there going through the collection,
feeling the fabrics, giving his opinion. He loves it."
He also loves copying his father's style — well, at least when it
comes to body art! In October, Romeo was photographed showing off a
familiar tattoo while out in Los Angeles. On his collarbone was a
"Harper" tattoo — in honor of his little sister. The fake ink is an
exact replica of the real one David got after the birth of his daughter
last year.
But there were no fake tattoos in Romeo's stylish Burberry shoot — just trenches and toothy grins.
